BERLUSCONI, the musical

Premiere April 2015
Nørrebro Teater, Frederiksberg Scene
Co-produced Nørrebro Teater and SceneWorks

If you thought Mr. Silvio Berlusconi was a beaten man and his political career was dead, think again. With even higher cheekbones and a foxy grin wider than ever before, Il Caveliere is back in the political arena, ready for a fourth round as Prime Minister!

In Rhea Leman’s satirical comedy, Silvio invites you inside the TV studios of Channel 5 in Milan Duo for the live filming of his campaign musical “In Bed with Berlusconi”. A magnificent musical written, directed, and produced by the master himself, and of course, with himself as the all-encompassing star. Here, the frontrunner will croon his way through the ups and downs of his life, never missing a chance to congratulate himself on his strength, charm, humor, and most importantly, his talent for survival. Unfortunately, the women in his life keep popping up, insisting on exposing the real Berlusconi – just another gangster riding his horse into the sunset.

BERLUSCONI, the musical, is a political comedy about power, illusion, and corruption, with singing, music, dancing, and irresistibly beautiful women. A show full of tumultuous emotions, languid songs, and real Italian melodrama.

“‘Berlusconi – The Musical’ gives an incredibly real picture of the man Silvio Berlusconi, and you don’t have to be politically interested to see this performance. It is simply a ‘must see’ for everyone.”

“… leaves the show with a smile on his face, because who doesn’t appreciate the rain of money and the opportunity to get “In Bed with Berlusconi”.
Carina Blangsbøll, Ung Teaterblod

“‘Berlusconi, the musical’, is a wacky and crazy portrait of the man. From corruption, bribery, incitement to prostitution, and much more.”
Kristian Husted, Politiken
